temp LMS CADSI, the Mechanical Simulation Technologies Division of LMS International, today announced the release of LMS DADS" Version 9.5, its state-of-the-art software for dynamic motion simulation. DADS is used by vehicle, aircraft, and other manufacturing companies to model virtual prototypes in order to improve the dynamic performance of their designs.
The latest enhancements deliver ease-of-use, faster solution times, improved animation playback, a new Durability Interface, and specific modules for engine and suspension simulation. A new feature in DADS 9.5 is the ability to integrate LMS PolyFEM modal results into DADS for flexible body simulation - a unique competitive strength of DADS that enables precise load prediction and the animation of part deformation in mechanical systems.
The initial integration with LMS’s Durability Software FALANCS is also announced with this release. This new Durability Interface enables DADS to export and import time series load data for Durability and Fatigue Studies in FALANCS. In effect, a durability analysis of vehicle components, such as a suspension unit, can now be performed using loads predicted on a ’virtual test track’ or ’virtual test rig', long before the physical prototype even exists. Additionally, exporting DADS results to the LMS CADA-X post-processing tools allows advanced frequency domain analysis to be performed. The DADS Durability Interface provides the basis for true collaborative engineering between test, mechanical simulation, and durability engineers.
